“Elstow: The Man Who Took A Stand” was written to commemorate the faith and courage of John Bunyan. Fusing acoustic folk textures with scripture-inspired lyrics, this song celebrates standing firm in faith through life’s greatest trials. It’s also my goodbye to Elstow, and the village green and it’s compelling Christian hertiage which has been near my home for 25 years.
About Sarah: The Heart Behind the Songs:
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember—from singing through my childhood to performing in local operatic society shows as a teenager. But for years, I only sang other people’s music.
Everything changed when my home group leader prayed for me to experience true freedom in worship. That prayer unlocked a floodgate: suddenly, melodies and harmonies weren’t just things I heard, but rhythms that flowed straight through me. Being AuDHD with strong pattern recognition makes music feel like second nature, and paired with the lyric-writing gift I inherited from my mother, songwriting became an essential part of who I am.
How I Create Music On A Tight DIY Budget
When God gives me a song, a lack of a big studio budget or a live band isn’t going to stop me. Operating on a tight DIY budget, I turned to modern technology to bring my lyrics and melody vision to life:
- 100% Original Heart & Vocals: I write every lyric, craft every melody, and sing every line.
- Custom Voice Clone: I created a digital clone of my own singing voice—captured while singing in tongues—giving it a deeper, more relaxed tone for a smooth studio finish.
- AI As My Session Band: I feed my lyrics, melodies, and cloned vocals into AI, directing it as my virtual backing band to build full folk and worship arrangements.
- In-House Visuals: As a professional illustrator and graphic designer, I create all my own single artwork, lyric animations, and cover designs right from home.
